I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend! I posted the homework for this week if you would like to get started on the math challenge. I have also posted some drama vocabulary in the language arts folder. We have only talked about some of the vocabulary words.
Here is what our week will look like...
Reading
We are wrapping up our drama unit this week. We will read a play as a class, talk about the structure of dramatic text, review vocabulary words, and look at the theme of the play. Students will have an assessment on Friday over the play that we discussed in class this week. Reviewing the vocabulary chart would be very beneficial!
Writing
This week we are also wrapping up our personal narrative unit. We will complete their current pieces on Monday. The rest of the week we will practice our revising skills by revising sample writing pieces, as a class, using our personal narrative rubrics. A copy of the rubric is posted in our documents!
Math
We got stuck on perimeter and area last week. This week we will finally be able to move on and talk about volume and capacity. What's the difference? Don't forget to send in your empty containers!
Science
Why do we have seasons? If it's summertime in Austin, is it summertime in Zanzibar? What's the difference between rotation and revolution? We're gonna find out this week!
Texas History
Now that Texas has been annexed by the United States, how will the Texans react?
