Hi there,
It's time again for Austin Family magazine's annual Young Writers Contest! We're accepting entries from 4th and 5th graders across the Austin-metro and surrounding areas and hope students in your school will participate. This year's prompt is:
"Peace begins with me." What suggestions would you give students about making school a peaceful environment for learning?
Essays should be 75-300 words and must be submitted by 5 p.m. October 15, 2013. A first place winner and runner-up will be selected from both 4th and 5th grades; first place winners receive a Kindle, runners-up receive a personalized plaque; all participants will receive a silicone wristband. Winners will be featured in an upcoming issue of Austin Family.
Please see http://austinfamily.com/core/photos/YWC-2013-rules.pdf for a full list of rules and guidelines for proper submission. Entries must be submitted in the manner described in the rules for consideration. Please forward this release to your language arts team lead or other faculty members as needed.
Thank you,
