I cannot believe there are only three weeks left of school. We still have so much to do!
This is what our week will look like...
Language Arts & Science
We are continuing to work on our PBL projects this week. We would like to be finished by Friday, but I'm not sure we will be. The kiddos are creating some really thoughtful products that share their research and persuasive writing to encourage others to help these endangered species. On Friday, we have several experts that will come in to review their research and proposals to help the animals. If we aren't finished by Friday, we will take suggestions and help from our experts on our projects. Either way, Friday is going to be a lot of fun!
Math
We are going to wrap up our angles unit this week. Once we are done, we will move on to a financial literacy unit. The students will be proposed the following question: Ms. Wright has been given $1,000 to spend for our classroom. What materials should she get for next year? They will be given a list of products they can purchase with real world prices. The kiddos will learn to budget their money, and make decisions that we, as adults, make every day. What do we need to purchase? What's the best way to spend our money? They will then make a graph to show how they decided to delegate their finances.
Texas History
This week, we are going to learn about the causes and effects of the Civil War. Texas just joined the United States- why are they leaving so quickly? What upset them so much? What will happen when the war is over?
