We went on a field trip this morning. We walked to the back of the campus to figure out what the big mystery building contained. We met Mr. Wesley Perkins, RRISD 's Energy Manager, and he took us on a tour of the building. He told us that the building housed our cooling system. It's what cools our school.
He told us that our air conditioning uses the most energy on our campus. He also showed us how the cooling plant worked- it was awesome! He shared some tips on how we can be conservative with our air conditioning use in our classroom. Later, we will look for ways we can be more energy efficient around our campus.
Here are some pictures from our trip.
