Good Afternoon!
We are counting down to our last set of STAAR assessments. I know the kiddos and I are ready to get them knocked out! If only we could take them on Monday and be DONE.
I'm so sorry we have had so much confusion about our field trips. We are still looking into all our options.
Here is a look at our upcoming week...
Reading
This week we are going to focus on comparing two different passages about the same topic. We will read paired passages and discuss the different points of view and text structures. We will also review out test strategies for next week. Here is a link to help study our vocabulary words.
Writing
We spent some time last week working on our letter to the district about putting benchmarks online. The kiddos were split into groups to tackle different parts of our letter. They also decided to create a website with the information they have learned about the importance of technology in education. Here is a great article we have read and discussed in little chunks. Take time to read it and discuss it with your child. This week kiddos will write letters to different members of our district to find information for their project.
Math
This week we are going to learn about personal financial literacy. We will talk about the difference between income and profit, look at important financial institutions, and talk about ways to save money to be prepared for the future. Students will have homework covering these topics. Feel free to talk about saving and spending with your kiddo!
Science
We will have new creatures on Monday! We will spend Monday and Tuesday designing experiments to learn more about them. For the rest of the week we will discuss/compare life cycles. Use this link to practice your vocabulary at home.
