Rain, Rain Go Away

Dear Weather,

You are ruining our lives.

Sincerely,
4th Grade

Today we had ANOTHER canceled event. We postponed Field Day because of the drizzly weather. HOWEVER, we aren't going to let crummy weather bring us down. We spent the morning sharing our love of tech with our first grade buddies AND played with the baby chicks that just hatched in their room. We used PebbleGo to research adaptations and interesting facts about chickens. Next, we showed our buddies how to make a ThingLink with the information that we learned. It was a lot of fun! Here are some pictures of cute chicks and examples of our projects. Scroll aaalllllllllllllll the way down to see the surprise ending to our day!!!

Thanks for sticking with us!
This afternoon I received an email from Mark Gabehart, Executive Director of Management Information Services for RRISD, asking if he could hear the kiddos presentation today. Of course the kiddos were ecstatic! We had a great time talking tech, and the importance of paper conservation. Here are a few pictures from our time with him. He sent me an email later (and included Dr. Flores!) saying how impressed he was with all the students had learned. I could not ask for a better end to our week.

Unfortunately, in all the chaos. I didn't get any pictures of our birthday celebration today. We also said goodbye to two of our friends. We hope y'all enjoy your long vacations on the other side of the world! We are envious:) I hope everyone has a wonderful long weekend. See ya on Tuesday!

OH, and one more thing, here is a link to the performance the kiddos did with the Austin Symphony Orchestra on Monday. :)
