Being cooped up inside has made us all a little stir crazy. It doesn't look like we're going to catch a break for awhile.
We celebrated a birthday today! Here a pictures of us enjoying the sweet treats.
We have quite the exciting week planned next week. Here are some important things you need to know. Please be sure to read all the way through since there's a lot to keep track of.
I know. It's the end of the year. I promise to keep the rest of my updates short and sweet :)
Symphony Field Trip
Our field trip is still scheduled for Tuesday. The Long Center has suggested that students bring raincoats/ponchos (NOT umbrellas) in anticipation of rain as they load on and off the buses. The kiddos should wear nice clothes for the performance. Please pack a large snack for you child since we will have a late lunch that day. Don't forget your recorders! The kiddos are going to be able to play WITH the symphony! No, you don't even need to ask. Of course I will record the performance for you. I know you wouldn't want to miss out on that :)
Paper Presentation
Thursday is going to be such an exciting day!! The kiddos will finally be able to give their presentation to district leaders. They have been working hard on this project for a long time now. As of right now, we are anticipating
-Superintendent, Dr. Flores
-Executive Director of Elementary Schools, Carla Amacher
-Chief of Teaching and Learning, Robin Gesch
The kiddos will be persuading the district to upgrade our assessments to a digital format. This change would save the district $20,000 and reduced our impact on the environment. The kiddos wold like the district to use that money on technology for campuses that don't have the same access to technology that we enjoy on a daily basis. Today we started putting together their website that they will use through their presentation. You can check out what they've accomplished today by clicking The Green District. We will wear our 4th grade t-shirts for the presentation. I will wash them for us :)
I will record the entire presentation for y'all. I'll post the video as soon as we're done!
Field Day
Friday is Field Day!!! Woohooo...wait, is it going to rain again??? I don't think we can handle another canceled event. For right now, we are all going to practice positive thinking and move forward as if there won't be a cloud in the sky! Students will need to bring a water bottle, sneakers, a towel, and a swimsuit under their clothes (they will get wet). They will need to wear their 4th grade t-shirts (yes, again) that day. I will have them here ready to go! #lesslaundryformom
Here's the link to signup to volunteer at Field Day.
You will get to enjoy a long weekend after that! On Friday, May 29th, we would like to invite you to our classroom to see your child present their savings project. Have you made it to the bank to open up those savings accounts?? Presentations will begin at 1:50. You will have the opportunity to walk around and see all the savings plans the fourth grade students have created. We will also have some financial advisrs and representatives from A+ Federal Credit Union walking around to check out the kiddos projects. You are more than welcome to take your child home when you are done.
Now that was a lot to take in. Please let me know if you have any questions!
