It's our final week before a long break! We actually don't have too much going on. Read below for information on what's happening before the New Year!
Homework
My language arts students need to make sure they are ready to turn in their biography reflection questions on Thursday. We spent all of last week working on them. You can find this assignment in Google Classroom.
Reading
We have been reading biographies which are an example of literacy nonfiction. This week, we are taking our knowledge of our famous people and using it to analyze some of their more famous quotes. Students will be discussing how important events/people might influence them to say that. This assignment can also be found on Google Classroom.
Writing
We have been working on crafting quality introductions for our expository writing. This week, we will spend time working on the body of our expository writing and the conclusion. Students will turn in a final draft on Thursday!
Science
We are going to bring our current unit on matter and the water cycle to a close. Students will review that the sun powers the water cycle continuously. We will take a short assessment on Thursday.
Social Studies
We are going to pick up where we left off before Hour of Code. We will discuss how European explorers had a major impact on our culture today.
