Tomorrow is the first day of Camp Staarlight! Don't forget to wear red. If you kindly volunteered to bring snacks, please send them with your kiddo tomorrow morning. Since the kiddos will be working so hard during the day, we will not have homework next week. I may send home any incomplete writing assignments that will be due the next day. Hopefully, we won't have many of those!
The Writing STAAR assessment is Tuesday, March 29th. That's right around the corner! I am so excited for us to cross our first testing hurdle. Want to know ways you can support your kiddo? You can find released STAAR assessments, writing online practice passages, and writing games online. IXL will even let you practice a few TEKS in language arts for a limited time.
The night before the assessment, please make sure kiddos get plenty of sleep. They will also need a healthy snack that won't leave food residue all over little fingers and answer documents.
Don't forget to mark Saturday, April 9th in your calendar! That's the day of our culminating event for our hunger project. More information to come after STAAR. One hurdle at a time, y'all!
Let me know if you have any questions about Camp Staarlight, the STAAR assessment, or anything else!
