Can you believe it's December?! This year has gone by so quickly!
Here is what our week will look like...
Language Arts
This week the kiddos are finishing up researching Famous Texans. We have talked about planning our papers, staying on topic, using skimming to find information, and logically organizing our writing. We hope to be done by Tuesday, but might not finish until Wednesday. Once we wrap that up we are going back to expository text. In reading we will move on to comparing literary nonfiction to biographies, autobiographies, and historical fiction. It's going to be a lot of fun!
Math
We have a division test on Thursday. Students will be allowed to use their multiplication chart for help. This assessment will focus on their ability to use division problem solving strategies (drawing pictures, using the algorithm) and decoding division word problems. We will spend the rest of the week preparing!
Science
We have an electricity assessment on Monday of next week. This week we are going to look at static electricity and review for our assessment. Electricity has been so much fun for them! Today I reviewed students Science Fair research. I gave suggestions to all students about what they could make changes on. Please check with your child and make sure the changes are made by December 10th.
Texas History
We have an assessment (I know!) over explorers on Friday. We will spend time this week preparing for the test.
We have SO MUCH going on! It's going to be an action packed few weeks until school is out for break :o)
