I've gotten tons of questions about the notebooks/journal the last few days. I just spoke with Mrs. Schermerhorn, our Science Fair coordinator, and she said that the notebook is like another copy of what is on the boards. As a former judge, she said that reading the boards can be difficult, so most judges will pick up the notebook to read through. Sometimes the fonts that students select can be a little-crazy. It's easier for the judge to have the information in their hands while the ask students about their experiments.
If it were me, I would simply print out another copy of everything on my board and organize it with dividers. That way it would be easy for the judges to flip through. Your kiddos have worked hard on this project and should receive credit for that!
I know most of you are wrapping up the projects this weekend, so feel free to send me an e-mail at anytime with your questions. I'll keep my phone next to me all weekend!
