Weekly Update 11/11th-15th

This week in A220...

Language Arts
We are wrapping up our poetry unit this week. Students are currently writing poetry using figurative language to help create images in the readers' minds. They need to have all of their poems completed by Wednesday. We will spend Thursday and Friday creating a book for their poetry. All completed poetry books will be due on Friday.

Math
This week, we are going back to 2x1, 2x2, and 3x1 multiplication. Students need to know the steps to solve these problems independently. We are also going to continue working on division. Students should be practicing their math facts at home.

Science
We are continuing our unit on electric energy. Last week, students created simple circuits and learned what is need to create a closed circuit. This week, we are going to look at insulators, conductors, and electromagnets.

Texas History
We will move on from Native Texans half way through the week and start learning about European Explorers in Texas.

Fourth Grade 411
- The library is still looking for volunteers for the Book Fair. Please check the library webpage for more information.
- Check our classroom calendar for due dates this week.
- Next week is International Children's Fair and Book Fair.
