Weekly Update 1/20-24

Good Morning!
We have a lot going on this week -again :)

Writing
This week, we are focusing on the mechanics of writing. We will review comma rules and look for ways we use them in our own writing. How do commas change the meaning of our sentences? We will continue to work on personal narratives next week!

Reading
This week, we are reviewing and summarizing the traits of a quality summary. We will also continue to look for themes in our text based off summaries and character changes. We will continue learning about traditional literature and focus specifically on myths and fairy tales.

Science
We have a fun science lab planned for the kiddos tomorrow! The entire fourth grade will be out in the commons area looking at examples of weathering, erosion, and deposition. See if you notice any of these examples out in the neighborhood.

Texas History
This week starts our unit on the first colonies in Texas. We will learn about Stephen F. Austin and The Old 300.

Math
Last week, the kiddos had a great start on decimals. This week, we will learn to compare, add, and subtract decimals.
