Good Afternoon!
Just when you think the weeks can't get any crazier...
Don't forget to send your child to school with their night writes. I will give them time to work, conference, and edit in class this week. They can bring in whatever they have-even if it's nothing. Students will have a writing benchmark on Friday.
Reading
We are wrapping up our traditional literature unit this week. Students have a short assessment scheduled for tomorrow. They will need to match up definition to the different styles of traditional literature. We will also read a story, write a summary, identify the genre, and use the text evidence to discover the theme. Students will have a reading benchmark on Wednesday.
Math
We are also finishing up our decimal unit. The kiddos have done a great job of thinking logically about decimals and their relationship to fractions. An assessment is scheduled for Friday. There will be a review packet that students will work on in class and can finish at home.
Science
It's finally here! Science Fair & Science Night are scheduled for tomorrow. Students will present their projects to the judges during the day. Tomorrow evening, should you decide to brave the weather, all student projects will be on display, as well as several wonderful presenters. There will be a science test on Friday.
Texas History
Stephen F. Austin has brought many colonists to Texas. Up next, how does the Mexican government feel about all the Americans in their country?
Let me know if you have any questions!
