PBL Presentations

We finished our PBL projects and presented them to some fabulous guests this afternoon! The kiddos were so excited to share their hard work. We had a wide variety of finished products...

-Three websites
-Two videos
-One letter to U.S. Representative John Carter
-One letter to Pulte homes
-Two flyers for neighborhoods nears springs and caves
-And one group got approval to post a warning sign next to a spring at Travis Audubon's Baker Sanctuary!

I'll post some pictures and completed projects below.

A BIG thanks to our guests for taking time to visit with us this week. I appreciate you answering all my questions, last minute pleas, and for taking the time to help us out. We could not have done this project without you!

Charlotte Kucera from U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services
Nathan Bendik from Austin Watershed Protection Department
Jim Hailey, President of the Texas Ornithological Society
Jenny Paul from Cedar Park Parks and Recreation (and it's her birthday today!)
Sharon Fuller from U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services (surprise- she knows Mrs. Bailey from high school!)
Erin Cord from Travis County Balcones Canyonland Preserve
Christopher Murray, Land Manager of the Travis Audubon's Baker Sanctuary

All these fabulous people took time out of their busy schedule to help our kiddos (and their slightly frazzled teacher) with this great project. We look forward to working with you next year!

Have a great weekend!

*Ask your kiddo to see more of their projects at home. They can access them on their Google accounts!

Mrs. Kucera got us started with a wonderful presentation on the wildlife in Austin.

Mr. Bendik presenting on the Jollyville Plateau Salamander

Mr. Hailey presenting on the Golden Cheeked Warbler

Some great final presentations!
