Today we played a fun team builder called Me Too! The kiddos created a list of things they have in common with their new teammates. It was A LOT of fun!
When the students shared their lists, we discovered that are THIRTEEN different languages spoken in our classroom. That is SO COOL!! The students in our classroom speak...
-Hindi
-Korean
-Spanish
-Japanese
-Gujarati
-Tamil
-Kannada
-Telegu
-Marathi
-French
-Canadian-French
-English
We also learned that many of our Indian classmates speak more than one language. When we talked about it, we learned that people in India speak many different languages. They told us there are hundreds of different languages spoken in India-very cool.
Even though we may all come from different cultural backgrounds, we can still find things we have in common. It was a great ah-ha moment!
Later, we spent some time using the translator on our class website. We translated our page into some of the languages our classmates speak at home. You can find the translator on the right hand side of the page.
