Good Morning
IMPORTANT!!
Our field trip is on Thursday and not on Wednesday. I had it written down as the wrong date. I'm sorry if I caused any confusion.
Here is a look at our week:
Reading
We are starting a great new fiction unit. We will spend the next two weeks reading stories with themes that support our PBL. At the end of the unit, students will write their own children's book about hunger. They will create actual books that they will read to their first grade buddies. This is part of their action piece for their PBL and we are very excited!
Writing
Last week, we did not have time to start a new writing piece like I had hoped. We spent this morning getting started on writing an expository piece on a place that is important to us. It will be due on Wednesday. We will spend Thursday and Friday reflecting on our trip to the Round Rock Serving Center.
Math
We are going to wrap up our angle measurement unit this week. Students have done an awesome job practicing measuring angles with our online protractor. Don't forget to continue practicing vocabulary. We will start our new unit on decimals and how they relate to fractions. The kiddos are VERY excited about getting started on decimals. They actually cheered in class on Friday when I told them what we are working on next!
Science
We are going to discuss habitat loss and how it can impact the food web in an environment. We will go out and explore the habitat loss all around our campus!
Social Studies
We are going to the Round Rock Serving Center this week! The kiddos are incredibly excited. We are going to learn how all our donations had a positive impact on the serving center, ideas for our garden expansion, and ways we can volunteer at the serving center. We will also find time to continue the journey to the Texas Revolution.
Homework
Read 20 minutes a night and complete nightly math page.
Fourth Grade 411
March is going to be hectic, but a good kind of hectic! Please be sure to check our calendar for all of our important dates.
